Collaborative visit from Dr. Jonas Luckmann

From October 14 to 18, 2024, the Water Resources and Hydrology Research Group had the pleasure of hosting Dr. Jonas Luckmann from Humboldt University of Berlin. Dr. Luckmann’s visit, supported by Humboldt University’s Global Partnership Flexible Funding 2024, strengthened our ongoing collaborations on water resources management and economic modelling.

During the visit, we worked with Dr. Luckmann on research proposals and papers that explore the intersection of water resources and economics. Dr. Luckmann provided a one-day training session on the application of Computable General Equilibrium (CGE) models in water resources management. In addition, Dr. Luckmann delivered an insightful guest lecture for the Water Resources Engineering course (CIV550), where he shared his expertise with our students, providing them with a global perspective on the economics of water management challenges.

We look forward to continuing to work with Dr. Luckmann and his colleagues at Humboldt University of Berlin to push the boundaries of hydrological research and its intersection with economic modelling.
